Water-powered sump pump
After a few days of violent thunderstorms, tree branches litter the roads, power lines are down, and seeping water has started to make a lot of basements look more like indoor swimming pools. The problem, of course, is that the storms that bring the flooding also put sump pumps out of business.
A Canadian manufacturer has come up with a solution for houses that are hooked up to municipal water systems. Home-Guard is a simple backup sump pump that uses water pressure as the sole power source.
