ENRON SELLS 13 PERCENT INTERESTY IN CARBON DIOXIDE PIPELINE

HOUSTON, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Enron Corp. (NYSE: ENE) today announced that it has sold its HNG Cortez Pipeline Company stock to Cortez Vickers, Inc., of Denver, for approximately $21 million.

Through the HNG subsidiary, Enron had held a 13 percent interest in the Cortez Pipeline Company, a general partnership that owns a 500-mile carbon dioxide pipeline. The line transports carbon dioxide from production fields near Cortez, Colo., to Denver City, Texas, for use in enhanced oil recovery.
