POWER COOPERATIVE SIGN POWER-EXCHANGE AGREEMENT

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Louisville Gas and Electric Company (NYSE: LOU) and East Kentucky Power Cooperative have signed a power-exchange agreement that provides for better year-round utilization of each utility's electric generating capacity.

Under the terms of the seven-year agreement, East Kentucky Power will provide Louisville Gas and Electric with 55 to 165 megawatts of power during the months of July and August, 1988 through 1990. In turn, LG&E will provide East Kentucky with 30 to 145 megawatts from ...
