Australian Wool Corp. to Stabilize Quotations to Prevent Price Slide
The good news in Australian wool prices is that they have eased off from recent extreme highs, but the bad news is that the Australian Wool Corp. is now going to stabilize quotations at relatively stiff levels to halt any further slide.
The agency has sent messages to major buyers that it is going to stabilize prices at "levels close to those prevailing at the end of last season.' That would be the quotations recorded this past June, which were regarded by international buyers at the time as fairly stiff.
