The U.S. is angry with Norway over its illegal sales to the Soviets
For Norway, being deemed untrustworthy by the U.S. is bad enough. But when a great many Norwegians also see sharp criticism from Washington as highly unfair, the result is as close to a crisis in relations as two longtime friends and allies have ever known.
Though pushed out of the headlines by the tensions in the Persian Gulf, this minicrisis is real enough.
