ROBERT SOLOW IS EIGHTH MEMBER OF MIT FACULTY TO WIN NOBEL PRIZE
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- MIT Institute Professor Robert M. Solow is the eighth member of the MIT faculty -- and the second MIT professor in 10 days -- to win the Nobel Prize.
Dr. Solow is the third professor in the economics department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to win the Nobel. Previous winners were Franco Modigliani, who won the Nobel Prize in economics in 1985 for his theories of life-cycle savings and corporate finance; and Paul A. Samuelson, who in 1970 became the first American to win the Nobel Prize in economics, for his efforts to raise the ...
