LOS ANGELES--If early indications hold true, the surfer look translated into swimwear appears to be the hottest swimwear news for cruise 1988. While these looks may not be characteristic of the number one booking suits so far at each firm, they are, makers maintain, among the top. More important, they are the suits garnering the most attention and excitement.
Cashing in on the surf craze and wet-suit-as-swimwear look popularized by Body Glove, virtually every West Coast firm has at least one version of the look and retailers are taking to it like surfers to waves.
