The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority will draw on the expertise of a world leader in oil spill response, today (10.00-11.00 am Friday, 14 August, followed by a press conference at 11.45 am).

Dr Tim Lunel of the National Environment Technology Centre, United Kingdom, lead the Sea Empress oil spill response in 1996 that saw 80 000 tonnes of crude oil spill into one of the UK's few marine parks.
