Farm Service Agency Administrator Keith Kelly announced today that increased milk production in the Northeast Dairy Compact Region was responsible for $1.762 million in nonfat dry milk purchases by USDA under the Milk Price Support Program. The 1996 Farm Bill requires the Northeast Dairy Compact Commission to reimburse USDA for product purchases that result from projected milk production increases that exceed the projected national rate of increase.
