Oct. 3--World Newspapers Inc., a subsidiary of the Omaha World-Herald Co., has agreed to sell the Columbus (Neb.) Telegram to Independent Media Group of Adrian, Mich., which also owns the Fremont (Neb.) Tribune.
Terms of the sale, which is to close Oct. 8, were not disclosed. The Telegram has 11,500 in circulation six days a week. Independent Media has eight daily papers in Michigan, Wisconsin and Nebraska.
Its chief executive officer, Anthony Allegretti, said Julie Speirs is to remain as publisher of the Telegram. He said Independent Media would examine the newspaper's operations after the acquisition to ...
