Osiris Therapeutics, Inc., Baltimore, Maryland, announced that the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office issued a patent claiming the use of all compositions of human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) to both regenerate any form of connective tissue and to repair connective tissue defects.
The patent further discloses methods for enriching hMSCs from a patient sample. Additional claims cover methods for the in vivo differentiation of MSC compositions into connective tissue.
