Oct. 6--A longtime Anchorage accounting firm has bought another in an effort to be better positioned for the services customers are expecting from their CPAs.
Mikunda, Cottrell & Co. is absorbing Whitlock, Carlson & Associates in a deal that closed last month.
The merger follows a trend of small and medium-sized accounting firms combining to build expertise or enhance services, according to David Cottrell, managing partner of Mikunda. Merging allows the two companies to cut down on overhead and fixed costs, he said.
