Oct. 7--NEWPORT, Ore.--With Keiko splashing around in his Icelandic sea pen, the foundation that owns the killer whale is pulling up stakes and moving elsewhere.
"I think that it's inevitable around the first of the year we will be closing up shop in Newport and moving it either north of south," Beverlee Hughes, president of the Free Willy Keiko Foundation, said Tuesday.
The foundation will either move north to Seattle, where Keiko's chief benefactor and foundation board chairman Craig McCaw lives, or south to California, home of the Jean-Michel Cousteau Foundation and the Earth Island Institute, Hughes said. ...
