Oct. 7--NORFOLK, Va.--Usually attorney Neil Rose, Virginia Power supervisor Mary Edwards and state Sen. Stanley Walker spend their days among grown-ups negotiating contracts, hammering out policies, or crafting new laws.

Tuesday they poured milk for 5-year-olds, rubbed the backs of toddlers to help them sleep, and chatted with 2-year-olds about the properties of Play Doh.

"You just rip it and roll it," 2-year-old Jahvae Giddens told Rose with an air of authority.
