LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 15, 1998--Frank del Olmo, who has been assistant to Los Angeles Times Editor Michael Parks, has been promoted to associate editor of the newspaper, Parks announced Thursday.
In his new position, del Olmo will focus on expanding The Times' coverage of Southern California's rapidly growing Latino communities and will also work on a variety of other editorial initiatives. He will report to Parks. He will also continue to contribute to The Times' Op-Ed pages as a columnist.
