Earlier today, the Air Transport Association's (ATA) senior management and top technical staff were briefed by Tom McSweeny, the FAA's Associate Administrator for Regulation and Certification, and several members of his staff on the issue of aircraft insulation. It was a productive meeting and led to a fuller understanding of yesterday's announcement by the FAA concerning Mylar and other forms of aircraft insulation.
