CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Consolidated sales for the first nine months of 1998 were $3,278,000,000, compared with $3,147,000,000 in the first nine months of 1997. Nucor's (NYSE: NUE) consolidated net earnings for the current year's first nine months were $202,000,000 ($2.30 per share), compared with $218,000,000 ($2.48 per share) in the first nine months of 1997.
In the third quarter of 1998, Nucor's consolidated sales were $1,011,000,000, compared with $1,102,000,000 in last year's third quarter. Net earnings for this year's third quarter were $65,000,000 ($.74 per share), compared with $80,000,000 ($.91 per share) in the third quarter of 1997. ...
