Oct. 25--NEW OWNERS PLAN TO REDO DOWNTOWN 1801 MAIN BUILDING: The black glass and granite building at 1801 Main in downtown has been purchased by TCP Holdings, which plans to renovate the property and get new tenants.
The redevelopment of the 12-story, 219,000-square-foot building will join the trend of downtown's second tier of office buildings being upgraded into first-class towers. TCP will spend millions to upgrade the building and locate a higher grade of tenant. McCord Development has been making the same play, in buying, renovating and re-leasing the old First City Main building and the Travis Tower.
