Mis-Use of Popular Lenses for Halloween Can Lead to Scary Consequences
SEATTLE, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- As Halloween nears, the growing popularity of costume contact lenses has many local optometric physicians concerned about the dangers of mis-use. The novelty lenses, such as WildEyes, made by the Wesley Jessen Corporation, come in as many as eight eye-popping colors and designs -- from eerie cat eyes to "pool shark" eight balls and zombie-like stares.
These lenses are tinted to change the color of the iris. Many buyers of these lenses don't need contact lenses for vision, and purchase them strictly for cosmetic purposes.
