Oct. 25--Locals who have always bragged about Contra Costa County's quality of life to their Bay Area neighbors now have the proof to back them up.
An economic snapshot of Contra Costa County shows this area is bolstered by low median housing prices, low unemployment rates and growing business sectors such as technology and biotech. The area also provides fertile ground for home-based businesses, which now comprise almost 15 percent of the county's total businesses.
But a major concern continues to be the mismatch -- or deficit-- of jobs to housing in East County.
