As Halloween nears, local Vision Source optometric physicians are concerned about the dangers of mis-using popular costume contact lenses. The novelty lenses, such as WildEyes, made by the Wesley Jessen Corporation, come in as many as eight eye-popping colors and designs -- from eerie cat eyes to "pool shark" eight balls and zombie-like stares.
According to Dr. Michael Matsunami of the Broadway Vision Source in Seattle, "The lenses are a fun, eye-grabbing idea for that perfect Halloween costume -- but only if used correctly.
He added that WildEyes are FDA approved, which are proven safe for the eyes.
