WHEELING, Ill., Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- When Matt's Chocolate Chip cookies came in second best in a taste test of 26 chocolate chip brands, Matt Pierce was delighted.
The winner was a ringer.
The test compared store-bought cookies. The food editor conducting the test decided to gauge the astuteness of her judging panel by including one batch of homemade cookies.
"We've always said our cookies are the most like homemade," said Pierce, 28, whose entire family is involved in producing all natural ingredient cookies for Cookies Specialties Inc., which was started here in 1973 by his father, Grant Pierce.
