Researchers at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina, are preparing to test a vaccine to see if it can prevent recurrence of breast cancer and ovarian cancer in up to one-third of women with these diseases.
The physician-scientists have just finished the first phase of their clinical trial and are expected to enter Phase II studies by the end of 1998.
