Nov. 1--State personnel officials will draft a policy to deal with employees' background checks next week, Barbara McDonnell, executive director of the Colorado Department of Human Services, said Friday.

McDonnell said an initial proposal already has been drawn up, but will likely undergo changes in the next few days.

State human services officials will continue to polish the proposal by getting input from administrators at other state agencies, she said.
