Article: US Airways Reports Record October Load Factor; 2.7 Percent Increase in Revenue Passenger Miles.

ARLINGTON, Va., Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- US Airways (NYSE: U) reported today that its October 1998 load factor was 73.1 percent -- an all-time company high for the month -- and an increase of 1.8 percentage points over October 1997.

Revenue passenger miles for October also were up by 2.7 percent over October 1997 while available seat miles increased by 0.2 percent for the same period. The number of passengers enplaned totaled 5.0 million, an increase of 0.8 percent over October 1997. The average passenger journey of 703.4 miles was up by 1.9 percent.
