TRENTON, N.J.--It took more than 30 years, but Robert E. Lauer has finally "broken the shell," as he puts it, stepping onto an uncharted path he began dreaming about in 1957.
In August 1996, the 40-year veteran of the rubber, elastomer and latex industries for the second time in his career took off on his own, launching a consultation company, Lemer International, based in Trenton.
Lauer has a reputation in the latex industry for coming up with unconventional solutions to formidable problems. Some consider him a maverick.
