SAN FRANCISCO--It's being called a community arts victory over gentrification. On August 27, the City Planning Commission rejected Adam Sparks's application to construct luxury live-work spaces in a warehouse located next to the ODC/SF Theater. Twenty-four members of the San Francisco dance community--directors, arts organization board members, artists--spoke on behalf of the theater, which has been located in the heart of the Northeast Mission Industrial Zone since 1980.
