The mineral world lost one of its most talented teachers and dealers when Scott J. Williams passed away 31 October 1997.

Scott was renowned as a leading mineral dealer, beginning in the 1950s in California as one of the founders of Minerals Unlimited. Scott established his own mineral business in Scottsdale, Arizona, in 1958 and continued to be an active dealer after he moved to Nebraska to teach. He is survived by his wife, Ann, and his daughter, Julie, who will continue the Scott Williams tradition of offering fine mineral specimens.
