In the last issue of SJR, the idea that Patrick Emory might return to St. Louis to help KDNL (Channel 30) was suggested. He was hired shortly thereafter. Channel 30's general manager Tom Tipton, who said he had not seen the article, thinks Emory will make a big difference to Channel 30. He noted that Emory has a history of ratings success in St. Louis.
This is a smart move for Channel 30 which, as Tipton said, would otherwise have to hire someone unknown and spend one to two years getting people to tune in to a new face.
Many people remember Emory. He brought great ratings success to KMOV (Channel 4) during his tenure there from mid-1973 to mid-1975. ...
