Appropriate use of vitamin E supplements could save millions of dollars in health care costs each year, according to a new study published in the American Journal of Cardiology (1998;82:414-417).
The authors, from the University of Sydney and the Medical Technology Assessment Group in Australia, calculated cost saving related to vitamin E use, based on the results of the most positive trial of supplementation, the CHAOS study (NI vol 1, no 1).
