DOT Picks Law Firm

The state Department of Transportation last month selected Holland & Knight to handle legal work and bond counsel activities on a massive overhaul of south Florida's transit system.

Over the next 10 years, the state and local governments are expected to spend more than $3.8 billion to ease traffic congestion in and around Miami. Most of that money is expected to come from revenue bonds that will finance an expanded road and rail system as well as a transportation hub.

The DOT picked the firm from eight proposals that were submitted, according to the state agency's assistant general counsel Francine Steelman. ...
