Dec. 11 -- ORRVILLE, Ohio --The J.M. Smucker Co. in Orrville soon will have a new brand of peanut butter to go with its jelly.
Smucker said on Thursday it has agreed to buy the Adams brand of natural peanut butter from Agrilink Foods Inc. of Rochester, N.Y., for undisclosed terms.
The deal is expected to close in January, said Steven Ellcessor, Smucker's vice president of administration, corporate secretary and general counsel.
The Adams brand is sold exclusively in the northwestern United States and western Canada, Ellcessor said.
