KANATA, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 14, 1998--Mitel Semiconductor, a division of Mitel Corp. (NYSE:MLT)(TSE:MLT), will introduce a new version of its ASIC Design Kit in January with full support for ASIC design tools on Pentium-based workstations running Microsoft Windows NT(R).

The new kit complements Mitel's proven, popular support for UNIX operating systems from Sun Microsystems and Hewlett Packard, as well as industry standard ASIC design tools from Cadence, Mentor and Synopsys. Several of the tools from these leaders now run under Windows NT, and more are expected in the next year.
