Despite being perceived as novelties, third parties made their presence felt Nov. 3, drawing votes away from Republicans and leading to unexpected Democrat gains.
Forget Jesse Ventura. If it hadn't been for the efforts of two third-party candidates, the GOP well might have picked up two Senate seats on Election Day, and a lot of conservatives would have felt better when they awoke the next morning.
