The Advisory Council of the International Interior Design Assn predicted 10 trends that will shape the interior design profession and industry in the year 2000. Some of these include demand for user-centered design, clients' return to their main business, new sources of competition for designers and industry, acceptance of universal design, redefinition of society and socialization through technology, search for increased balance among self, family, community and career, and reliance of the interior design profession and industry on education and research for their survival.
