(Nasdaq: MNMD) today announced that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has set February 26, 1999 as the date on which an FDA advisory panel meeting will be convened to consider, make recommendations and vote on a premarket approval application (PMA) for a system designed to provide continuous glucose monitoring for people with diabetes. MiniMed has developed a minimally invasive continuous glucose monitoring system which provides continuous readings of interstitial glucose levels.
