Dec. 24 -- The remains of the bankrupt Kenny Rogers Roasters restaurant chain suddenly have become a hot commodity.
Nathan's Famous, the legendary New York hot-dog chain that is buying Miami Subs, jumped into the bidding Wednesday with an offer of $1 million for the assets of Kenny Rogers. The offer is part of a reorganization plan submitted by a committee of Roasters franchisees to the U.S. bankruptcy court in Durham, N.C., where Roasters Corp. filed for Chapter 11 protection in March.
