Having been one yard from playing for the national championship and then left out of the Bowl Championship Series games, fourth-ranked Kansas State's consolation prize is the Alamo Bowl against overmatched Purdue Tuesday night.
The Wildcats' dream season ended Dec. 5 in St. Louis with a 36-33 double-overtime loss to Texas A&M in the Big 12 Conference title game, a defeat that will be forgotten no time soon.
