The first quarter of 1999 shows strong evidence that the economy is faltering with the worst job prospects forecast since 1994, according to the latest Manpower Quarterly Survey of Employment Prospects. Overall the trend in this quarter's Survey reflects similar circumstances which led to the recession experienced in the early 90s. For the first time all three Sectors - Public, Service and Manufacturing - are showing declines in job prospects.
