Charles Nolan Fortenberry, political science professor at the University of Mississippi and Auburn University, made lasting contributions in the field of teaching, administration and research during his lifetime. Fortenberry, who earned his undergraduate and master's degrees from the University of Mississippi and his doctoral degree from the University of Illinois, had teaching experiences in various higher educational institutions such as Edinburgh College, Texas A&M College and North Texas State College. He died on May 10, 1998, at the age of 89.
