HOUSTON, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAI.B and CAI.A) today reported a systemwide load factor of 68.0 percent in December, the highest December load factor in Continental's history and 0.2 points above the previous record set last December.
In December 1998, Continental flew 4.4 billion revenue passenger miles (RPMs) and 6.5 billion available seat miles (ASMs), resulting in a traffic increase of 9.0 percent and a capacity increase of 8.7 percent versus December 1997. International traffic was 1.5 billion RPMs, up 11.8 percent from December 1997 and international capacity was 2.2 billion ASMs, up 10.9 percent from last year.
