Article: Claim Fraud Slowing, But Some Raise Doubts.(Coalition Against Insurance Fraud report)

The amount of claim chicanery in the country may have stabilized with the cost to consumers from such activity dropping, a national insurance antifraud group believes.

However, the report from the Washington-based Coalition Against Insurance Fraud is based on 1996 data and admittedly involves some guesswork.

Questioning the coalition report were a number of industry sources who said it was difficult to quantify fraud activity. Others said they had seen no decrease.
