Henry Hyde seems to fancy himself Don Quixote, the main character in his favorite musical, ``Man of La Mancha.'' Leader of the House's successful impeachment effort, Mr. Hyde is now pressing a reluctant Senate to actually remove President Clinton from office. With little popular support for his goals, Mr. Hyde no doubt has the song ``The Impossible Dream'' soaring through his head. ``To fight for the right/Without question or pause/ To be willing to march into hell for a heavenly cause. ...''
Irony is not Henry Hyde's strong suit. For a year now, Rep. Hyde has made pursuit of President Clinton his highest legislative priority. ``Man of La Mancha'' ...
