Residential developers have broadened the market for golf course living by creating more options for homebuyers who golf.
Inside The Brooks, a new 5,200-home development in Bonita Springs, golfers looking to buy a house have a choice: They can choose a home in either Shadow Wood or Spring Run, two gated golf course communities with two distinct marketing approaches. At Shadow Wood, where houses run from $150,000 to $1.3 million, golfers can purchase an equity interest in the course for about $32,500. But at Spring Run, the golf course is owned by the homeowners association, and the cost of membership is included in the price of the $109,000 to $230,000 homes.
