Linda Solomon was only 5 years old when her father gave her a camera.
She took to photography immediately, snapping pictures of her family and her dog, Schnappzy, with her Brownie Starflash. Today, at 40, the Birmingham woman is nationally recognized for her celebrity portraits and photo essays. Her work has appeared over the years on television and in magazines such as Time and People.
She's also well-known for her efforts in promoting photography to children. Through her own experience, Solomon says, she knows how beneficial early exposure to the hobby can be.
