Wilson chooses to survey sources revelatory of Jewish and Christian relations between 70 C.E. and 170 C.E. What's new? Not his thoroughness, for in that he is simply another glorious exemplar of the scholarship of those who have worked this field - Simon, Sloyan, Sanders, and dozens of others whose names, incredibly, do not begin with "S." Perhaps the novum is Wilson's forthright refusal in his focused review of the literature to encapsulate the century he studies as embodying some trend. True, regard for the ...
