The health risks of silicone breast implants remain an unanswered question for the one million women with them, while the number of women undergoing breast implant surgery continues to rise, exceeding 120,000 last year. The Network is concerned that research on silicone implants continues to suffer from poor methodological design and inconclusive findings. Diana Zuckerman, Ph.D., Action Vice Chairperson of the NWHN Board, delivered the following remarks at a June press conference scheduled by Senator Barbara Boxer to discuss federal legislation regarding breast implants.
