SAN DIEGO, Jan. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Nanogen, Inc. (Nasdaq: NGEN) announced today that it has been awarded two United States Patents relating to its microelectronic array technology. U.S. Patent No. 5,849,486, entitled "Methods for Hybridization Analysis Utilizing Electronically Controlled Hybridization," covers methods for hybridization analysis utilizing an electronic stringency control device for varying the electrophoretic force on the hybridization product. The fluorescent signal from the hybridization product is then analyzed for variance as a function of the varying electrophoretic force.
