PARIS -- The euro has arrived, and the mood in Europe's fashion community ranges from acceptance to ebullience.

It's an epochal event, to be sure, but there has also been lots of planning and priming, and even though Europeans still have plenty of confusing points to ponder, what began over the weekend is only the start of a three-year transition period. And Americans who do business with Europeans appear to be taking the development in stride -- although it may eventually mean the emergence of a currency to rival the dollar in global strength.
