Feb. 2 -- FORT WORTH, Texas -- The Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau has added some attractions, hotels and an airline for the second year of its Family Getaway vacation package.
The additions come after what bureau officials consider to be a successful first year for the program. By the end of 1998, 357 vacation packages had been sold, totaling 605 room nights. More than 1,400 attraction tickets were sold and 750 travelers came to Fort Worth because of the initiative.
"The program has already demonstrated what it's capable of doing," said Doug Harman, chief executive of the bureau.
